The Delhi-based CBSE Board is the largest educational board in the country. The academic year begins in April and ends in March.

ASSESSMENTS

Students are assessed through Comprehensive Evaluations (CCE) and as per CBSE norms.

  • There is no regular examination for Grade I & II
  • Std III to X will have Summative Assessment (SA1 and SA2) as per CBSE Norms which will be held as Semester End Examination
  • Std VI to X will have all Formative Assessments (FA1, FA2, FA3, FA4) inclusive of activity and pen paper
  • Std IX and X will have Summative Assessments (SA1& SA2) as notified by CBSE Board
  • Std XI will have regular monthly tests followed By Semester End Examination at the end of each semester. Grade XII will have to appear for the board exam conducted by CBSE

The assessment will cover both scholastic and co-scholastic aspects. This will be carried out in schools over the two terms, Term 1 and Term 2 by means of formative and summative assessments using a variety of tests and assignments. There will be four Formative Assessments, each having a 10% weight age to it. There are two Summative Assessments (SA1 and SA2) with a weighting of 30% each.

  • First Term : FA1(10%) + FA2 (10%) + SA1 (30%) = 50%
  • Second Term : FA3 (10%) + FA4(10%) + SA2 (30%) = 50%
  • Formative Assessment FA(10%) +FA2(10%)+FA3(10%)+FA4(10%) =40%
  • Summative Assessment SA1(30%) +SA2(30%) = 60%
  • CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average): This will be provided exclusing additional 6th subject as per Scheme of studies.

Formative Assessment can be carried out using multiple modes of assessment such as assignments, quizzes, debates, Group discussions, Projects and only one pen and paper test. The other modes of assessment must be part of classroom interactive activities. The Summative Assessment is a written examination at the end of the term which may consist of objective type, short answer and long answer questions.
