Sports

Football

One of the flagship programs of HUS, students thrive in Football ECA programme, where they can further develop their football playing skills in a structured environment. This programme creates a positive space for players who have a passion for football to enhance their skills and understanding of the game. Through match-like scenarios and comprehensive training, players evolve into well-rounded athletes.

Table tennis being a fast-paced and exciting sport that promotes hand-eye coordination, agility, and mental focus, is a favourite indoor game that our students love to play.

Arts

Drawing

Painting stimulates young imaginations, challenges perceptions and develops analytical and creative skills. At HUS, students are encouraged to understand arts in context with their subjects and are also inspired to enrich personal identity and build awareness of aesthetics in a real world context. Painting and drawing helps students to improve their fine motor skills and hand -eye coordination. It gives them the opportunity to form connections between what they see and do. At HUS, students, right from PYP through MYP to DP are encouraged to create and showcase their talent and identities. Painting plays a crucial role in the HUS annual theatics programme.

The Free style dance program aims to develop students' artistic abilities, foster teamwork, and enhance their overall confidence and physical fitness. In addition to these benefits, the program will provide a creative outlet for self-expression and help students build discipline and perseverance through regular practice and performance. We at HUS, believe that participating in this program will enrich their school experience and contribute positively to their personal growth. &nbsp;

Theatrics is a flagship programme of HUS. The students and the parent community look forward to it every year. It gives the students the opportunity to make theatre as creators, designers, directors and performers. Debate

In alignment with the IB mission and as part of our commitment to developing articulate, critical, and globally aware learners, the English Department at our school hosts a Student Debate during its Lit Fest that showcases the power of words, ideas, and respectful discourse. As an inter school event it brings together students from across the MYP and DP programs, providing a platform for them to engage in thoughtful, structured debates on contemporary global and ethical issues.

The activity is carefully aligned with the IB Learner Profile, encouraging students to be thinkers, communicators, and open-minded global citizens. Through this experience, students enhance their ability to construct persuasive, evidence-based arguments, listen to and challenge opposing viewpoints respectfully, use rhetorical techniques to engage an audience and think quickly and respond with clarity under pressure

Students take full ownership of the event, from research and preparation to moderating and judging. The debate also provides an opportunity to connect English language skills with TOK (Theory of Knowledge) and Global Politics, highlighting the interdisciplinary nature of the IB program.

Model UN

At HUS, HUSMUN is an annual event that plays a vital role in nurturing globally minded, articulate, and critically engaged students. Aligned with the International Baccalaureate's mission to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people, HUSMUN provides a platform for students to explore complex global issues through diplomacy, debate, and collaboration. Students take on the roles of delegates representing different countries. They research pressing global topics, draft position papers, and engage in formal debates, working towards resolutions that reflect international cooperation. &nbsp;

HUS also encourages students from Grade 5 onwards to participate in other MUN’s conducted by other schools and even colleges. Participating in HUSMUN and other MUN’s helps students become confident, informed, and proactive global citizens. It enhances their academic writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills—core competencies that benefit their IB assessments, university applications, and future careers.

To further broaden their exposure, students from Grade 5 onwards are encouraged to take part in MUN conferences hosted by other schools and colleges. These opportunities allow them to grow as informed, proactive individuals prepared to thrive in academic, social, and professional arenas, ultimately shaping them into responsible and globally aware citizens.

STEM

In the&nbsp;<a href="https://hus.edu.in/academics/ib-primary-years-programme" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">IB primary years programme</a>, it is embedded through&nbsp;Transdisciplinary themes&nbsp;like “How the world works”. Inquiry-based learning focuses on science and math through real-world problems and exploration. Students explore basic engineering concepts through projects and hands-on learning (e.g., building structures, experimenting with forces, etc.)

In the&nbsp;<a href="https://hus.edu.in/academics/ib-middle-years-programme" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">IB MYP program</a>, STEM subjects are taught separately (Math, Science, Design/Technology), but connections are made between them.&nbsp;Design (a required subject) introduces&nbsp;engineering thinking,&nbsp;programming, and&nbsp;problem-solving.&nbsp;Interdisciplinary units foster connections between math, science, and technology.

In the&nbsp;<a href="https://hus.edu.in/academics/ib-diploma-programme" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">IB DP programme</a>, students choose from Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Systems&nbsp;and Societies),&nbsp;Mathematics (Analysis and Approaches / Applications and Interpretation),&nbsp;Computer Science (as a Group 4 science or elective).&nbsp;Extended Essay and&nbsp;Internal Assessments allow in-depth research in STEM areas.
